Card Activation

According to the Telecommunications (Registration of SIM Cards) Regulation, starting from 1 Mar 2022, local pre-paid SIM card users (including voice, data and/or short message services (SMS) SIM cards) must complete real-name registration with their telecommunications service provider in order to activate or continue the use of SIM card service. Mobile number will be assigned once real-name registration is completed.


Existing pre-paid SIM card users must complete real-name registration before 23 Feb 2023 to continue the use of SIM card service.


After successful activation, stored value and expiry date will be sent to you through SMS. 1-Year Local Data Pack will be effective and service charge of $458 will be deducted automatically.


* If mobile no. is not shown on your SIM card, please follow the methods below to obtain your mobile no.:

  1. Dial USSD code *111*359#SEND; or 
  2. Make the first call in Hong Kong

Once you have completed one of the above steps, you will receive an automated SMS displaying your assigned mobile number.

Roaming Data

Tips:

  • If you are unable to access roaming data service after subscribed the roaming data pack, please check your phone setting by following steps:
    - Ensure “Mobile Data” & “Data Roaming” setting on your phone is turned on
    - Restart your phone

Notes:

  • 'A day' is defined as 00:00 to 23:59 Hong Kong time. A partial day will be charged as a full day.
  • The pass is valid for 12 months starting from the day of purchase and must be used before the specified expiry date.
  • Daily with first 500MB at 4G speed, thereafter speed capped at 128Kbps
  • Once the data usage reaches the relevant fair usage limit, the data service will continue at a speed up to 128kbps until the data pack expires.
  • When roaming data is consumed, the service plan will be activated automatically.
  • The pass will be deducted only if roaming data is consumed, consecutive use of Day Passes not required. If you do not need to use the purchased day pass while roaming, please turn off roaming data on your phone before leaving Hong Kong.
  • Roaming data is only applicable to designated operators.(China-China Unicom, Japan-Softbank, Indonesia-Excelcomindo, Taiwan-ChungHwa Telecom,Bangladesh-Robi, South Korea-KT,Cambodia-Smart/Hello,Thailand-DTAC, Malaysia-Celcom, Singapore–M1 Limited, Macau-SmarTone/Macau CTM) *Designated operators may change from time to time
  • Actual data transmission speed may vary due to many factors, including but not limited to, network traffic conditions, handset models, handset settings (both hardware and software), uploaded/downloaded content and other external factors.

This Data Pack will be immediately effective upon card activation and is valid for 365 days. Service charge of $458 will be deducted automatically.

1The services included in the 1-year data pack will be effective immediately upon successful subscription. Call management services require a separate application (please refer to the instruction of “Call Management Service” for details). Once you subscribe to this data pack, the call management service pack you are using will be terminated and the service fee will not be refunded.

*The Basic Call Guard Service has been removed from Call Management Service Pack effective from 1 Feb 2023.

The following data packs can be subscribed when the 1-Year Local Data Pack (Default) expires or data allowance is used up:

1 The services included in the 1-year data pack will be effective immediately upon successful subscription. Call management services require a separate application (please refer to the instruction of “Call Management Service” for details). Once you subscribe to this data pack, the call management service pack you are using will be terminated and the service fee will not be refunded.

Tips:

  • If you are unable to access data service after subscribed the data pack, please check your phone setting by following steps:
    • - Ensure "Mobile Data" setting on your phone is turned on
    • - The Mobile data APN setting of your phone is set to “smartone”
    • - Restart your phone

Notes:

  • You can only subscribe to one of the data packs at the same time
  • 1-Day Data Pack is valid till 23:59 on the same day upon subscription
  • 7-Day Data Pack is valid from subscription day to 23:59 on the 7th day
  • Monthly Data Packs are valid for 30 days from the date of subscription. All unused data allowance cannot be carried forward to the next month. The fee will be deducted automatically every 30 days
  • If the SIM card balance is insufficient for fee deduction and/or the SIM card validity is less than 30 days on the payment day, the Monthly Pack will be automatically terminated; customer has to recharge and subscribe the data pack again
  • 1-Year Data Pack is valid for 365 days from the date of subscription.
  • A notification SMS will be sent to you when the data allowance is used up. You can subscribe to a new data pack, and the unused local voice minutes of existing data pack (if any) will be forfeited
  • Reset on validity of the SIM after recharge will not reset the validity of any subscribed data pack
  • The service will be suspended once the SIM card expires, even if the subscribed data pack is still valid.
  • All unused data allowance and local voice minutes (if any) will be forfeited upon expiry of data pack validity period
  • You can request to cancel the Monthly Pack for the coming month via quick access code. The Monthly Pack will be terminated upon its expiry
  • Data service is applicable for use in Hong Kong only. Actual data transmission and connection speed may vary due to the Internet traffic conditions, local conditions, hardware, software and other factors
  • Bonus data will be credited to the SIM account on the following day of SIM card activation / subscription of 1-Year Data Pack
  • The bonus data can only be used along with the effective data pack
